I went to Fry's to buy a PDA and the saleperson had less knowledge than I on the product. So left. I called Circuit City and they give me false information. And when i went there I found out that there is a restocking fee... i was told otherwise. Still I purchased the PDA. How do i handle these immature teens that dont care about service... Managers just apologize and that doesnt take back the time or money i've wasted. Any solutions or alternative to dealing with stupid salespeople?

To reply to the 5 or 6 dollars... it doesn't matter. I mean, I would do it for free, if they are working at Best Buy and like I did, they should know thier products. Like a McDonald's person should know what is in value meal #4. Its not simply lazyness, it the lack of qualification that the employees have. I believe that everyone has thier unique ability to be the best that they can be all the time, at any task, for free. Its a shame that money is an issue over passion. I quit best buy, because even though I love electronics, I'm more passionate about medicine. This is for everyone: Follow your passions and logic second. Laziness will not get you far and possibly failure. Be the best that you can be in the Army.. or everywhere.

I know i have to right to decline a purchase. But the problem is a salesperson is not a cashier, or a checkout person. He/she is required by the company or should be required in my case, to have the knowledge of the products and services in thier department. I research before hand always... but frankly I do not have the time to go online and read all the specs... I rather have a knowledgable salesperson guide me to the right product based on my needs. Now these teen agers dont care and dont follow procedure and it really hurts the companies when the manager is the same. Its not time to bond and take side of other employees during customer transactions. They are thier to serve the customer not to serve each other. What hurts is that 3 out of many places I went there were faults. Where are the good salespeople and where should I shop? Seems to me.. that ordering this online, would be the best way. I guess the wait would be less than the fustration.

You have to remember any time you make a purchase you are the customer buying a product or service from that company. You have the right as a customer to have qualified people assisting you. If you do not get the right answers or the best quality service than you should not buy from them. After all, it is your money that contributes to keeping them in business. Especially if you are not getting the right answers even from those in management.
In the future it would be wise for you to research any product or service you buy. That way as a knowledgeable consumer you will know if you are getting the right answers from a salesperson.

I had that problem with Circuit City earlier this week. To prevent dealing with stupid sales people, do your research ahead of time, know what you are going to buy before you walk in the store. Secondly, when an associate comes to assist you, be respectful and order them around to do your bidding and get you what you came in looking for.

It is a shame how little people care about the job that they do. I cannot stand laziness, and become quickly irritated with employees that do not make the effort or take the initiative to do the BEST job possible.

I definately agree on what you're saying but would you go to the trouble of learning all that stuff just to make like $6 or $7 an hour???
