I would say if your spouse doesn't feel uncomfortable about it, then it should be okay. If you have know your friend for a long period of time or even one for a short time that you've gotten close with and your spouse knows about it, it should be okay. Just remember the most important thing, never make your spouse feel like someone else means more to you than them.

It isn't wrong of you to have friends of the opposite sex, and your wife is over-reacting. But that is no reason to be insensitive to her wishes. Maybe you could invite your female friends and your wife out together to a club, dinner or coffee. Perhaps if she sees you with them and sees that you are in no way flirting, and if you still pay her the most attention, she might feel a little more secure. It is a complement on her part that she feels threatened - she thinks that you are such a catch, that another girl might steal you away. So try to make her feel better, remind her that she is the most important thing to you. Maybe she will even get on with some of your female friends!

I say I love you to some of my guy friends all the time ... sh*t when you grow up with the same click of friends your whole life ... and your families are just as close to each other ... then why not say I love you ... if your partner gets jealous of that then they have a big big problem ... !
Saying " I love You " doesn't always mean I want to f*ck you and leave my husband for you ... it means " I love You " and I care for ... !

I have one of these relationships and I do Love her as a friend who was there when I needed her. You have to understand that you are not the only person in his/her life. And that he/she is capable of loving someone else (I.E. Mother, brother, friend of the family, life long friend, and children) So ,yes its is OK.....

If your spouse is ok with it, fine. To me it'll feel weird & I'll definitely get a bit pissed off if my spouse says it to a friend.
