Action Replay MAX GBA/DS Doesn't Work?

Question

I bought an Action Replay Max that is supposed to work with both the GBA and the DS.

But the problem is that every time I try to backup or restore a ds save it says "Game cart not present, please insert before continuing."

I've tried, i've even emailed Datel, and still waiting for a response from them. If anyone can help, i'm asking you to please answer in the best detail you can.
