Any jamaicans in the house? Why is it I long to live in your country? Your people are beautiful and pure, I miss them. We traveled to Negril in April 2006 and met several great friends. We toured the island, we witnessed the poverty of your people. We learned about your government and your hardships. Jamaica is an amazing place with deep culture and deeper family values. Americans could learn from the Jamaicans, I know I did.

Excuse me, some of these ppl (beautyprincess especially) who answered this question are just plain rude! First of all jamaica has no more liars, murderers and theives than any other country, I was born and i live in Jamaica and whereas i may tell i lie now and then like the average person I am no theif and i certainly never killed anything more than a mosquito or a cockroach. Jamaica is filled for the most part with wonderful people as you've said it's just that our downfalls seem to be more publicized than those of other countries. I certainly don't see any jamaicans invading middle eastern countries and raping their women and killing their people with undue reason (enough said). We have our problems yes but so does everywhere else. Maybe it is sheer ignorance why SOME people have a hard time in jamaica, i've lived in jamaica all my life and i can honestly say that I'm more educated than alot of people and have experienced most of the "first world territories" first hand and i have never been inclined to leave my homeland even once. Have fun on your next trip and try to visit other areas of the island i was in negril just last month and it is beautiful but i know other areas are equally as good. I hope u visited rick's cafe (it's a must see). Try goin to ocho rios and other parts of St. Ann, St. James and Trelawny. Have fun next trip! I hope it will be even better than your last

I'm Jamaican and so is Lisa, i could be your friend no problem.

You long to live here because its so small and close knit and you see familiar faces. Just as Lexi I also travel to first world countries and believe you me i can never understand how the people are so cold and unfamiliar with each other, "farin" is too big and has too many isolated people for me.

PLUS so many things are caught up in bureaucracy and red tape its frustrating. e.g. someone is in need of medical attention but the doctors won't help cause they have no insurance.

Building code health code citations for this and that local, state and federal governments all have differing opinions on issues. In Jamaica and the wider Caribbean things just flow. Not to mention the doomsday/propaganda/paranoia spreading news on any little thing- "we are gioing to have less flu vaccines", "killer bees are coming" and my all time favourite terror alert : Amber".

Those Parrot Bay Rum ads are increaingly becoming true, we don't take life as seriously as the US, for example.

Next year try to come for ATI held in Negril during the Emancipation Weekend (its like Spring Break but for the locals) www.atiweekend.com

But that small island chica rude eeh? I would never knock YOUR country. Well maybe along the lines that the people cant string ideas properly together. (Lisa and Lexi Let's Get Her!!)

But boy water coming to my eye pon wat Lexi say the girl speaking from her heart, pure passion. Is true thing and for the first time she isnt being cheeky, funny or rude she set the thing straight!!!! RAAAAHH RAAAHH

When I check it out Lord NOWHERE NUH BETTER than Yard.

I am a Jamaican but I don't live in Negril. I live & work in Kingston.
You are probably longing to live in our country because we make all tourists feel welcome. There is so much to do here.

I hope that the next time you come to Jamaica you venture to various places like Montego Bay and St. Ann.

Have fun on your next trip

I got married at Sandals Negril last October. I never left the resort, though. Everyone at the resort was incredibly nice, though. All of the locals are SO damn friendly and easy going. I miss hearing them saying, "it's all good."

That is great that you learned something! I'm sure it is nice to visit poverty and then go back to your great wealthy and wasteful country. Hope you leave some money there when you visit. Maybe you should move there for a while. Smoke a dubbie and teach kids how to be white.
