I've pondered this question myself (and even tried to derive a good formula to predict it)
I'd pick Andre Ethier or Dan Uggla in the NL and it's hands-down Jonathan Papelbon in the AL, although if Jered Weaver can get a few more wins and keep the ERA down, he (or Justin Verlander) could be close contenders.

I think Johnathon Papelbon will win the Rookie of the year simply because he will have the most saves ever as a rookie. Justin Veerlander has a good chance because he is tied for the number of wins in the MLB and due to his low ERA. However, Papelbon is just five saves short of record number of saves by a rookie.

Liriano will get most of the answers for this question, but all the smart people are saying jonathan papelbon. ! duh. if closing out games was easy then the braves would have twenty more winss this season. a solid, reliable bullpen guy is priceless today, and what j-paps is doing is incredible
and i am not a red sox fan

Lariano will return in September to reclaim the trophy..
He is way more dominant then Verlander...
Look at ERA and strikeouts...

Andre Ethier for the Dodgers. He is batting .350 and is a decent outfielder also.
