I want to get rid of my cats and get another pet, something simple, easy to take care of, and doesnt cost too much

I am not irresponcible or a bad pet owner, the reason I am giving them away it because I a, giving them a chance to be with a better famiy. I cannot take care of 4 cats who were abandoned by thier owners. Two of them are brothers and just baby kittens and they have a chance to live with a really nice family. one of them is a very violent cat who was set to be put down. I rescued him and I have had him for 3 years, but he has hurt my little brother and sister countless times. And lastly a cat that has severe mental damage and is sick. I would love to care for all of them but I dont have the time, money or patiance to deal with it. But they are going to good homes. so do not judge me....

You seem to be very intelligent! I hope the cat lovers won't be to harsh on you for having the sense to get rid of your cats.

Hamsters are cute, cheap and are easy and entertaining. A hedgehog is cute too. But, no pet is "easy", they still need to be taken care of and not ignored.

How about fake fish in a fake aquarium

Hamsters and things like that are great for the cost. If you don't want to spend time with them though, they can and will get mean and bite. Fish tanks, regardless of the type of fish you have can be difficult to care for. Maybe a betta splendens. They're cheap, pretty, and don't need any kind of special tank or filter, a bowl will do. Just some pretty rocks, a cute plant, maybe a decoration.

Totally irresponsible. What are you going to do boot them out on the street because they are no longer convenient to you? How selfish. If you cannot take care of them... that is one thing but the fact that you "want to get rid of them and get something simpler" just show that you are not cut out to have pets. If you get something "simpler" I hope it runs from you so one day when that pet is no longer convenient you can't just give it away. Animals are not disposable!

Why did you get cats in the first place? Did you not know you would have to care for them? Animals are not something you get because it is cute or fuzzy...

I am sorry but you are very sad.

If you want to "get rid" of your cats then you shouldn't get any pet! All pets take work, and need LOVE, obviously you can provide neither because you need something with less work than a cat- who are pretty much self sufficient, and if you can dispose of them so easily you can't care about them very much!
I suggest a pet rock- that's more your style!

Cats are independant and if you can't take care of one of the I suggest not to get another animal. Fish are extrememly hard to keep to and hamsters stink.
