Why does wearing glasses make people look goofy?

I have recently had an eye test, the optician told me that my eyesight has worsen, infact an extra lens in thickness, she also said i needed to wear my glasses allday. Everytime i put them on i feel unattractive and goofy looking, i had a contact lenses consultation once but found the contacts uncomfortable. Is there anything you can do to reassure me about my issue with glasses?

I'm in exactly the same position as you - can't wear contacts but am increasingly reliant on glasses (especially for using the pc). Get yourself some 'statement' glasses - make them a real feature rather than something to hide behind. There's a lot of us out there - be confident and don't worry!

If you're still unsure about contacts, try acuvue lenses. I recently went to my eye doctor and she told me that I would have to wear my glasses all day, so I chose contacts instead. The first time that you wear them, they're a little uncomfortable, but after a little while you can't even feel them. If you don't want to wear glasses all the time, don't give up on contacts just yet. If you really want glasses, get a cute pair of frames. Not everybody looks dorky in glasses.

make sure the girl in the opticians that helps u pick out your glasses knows what she is talking about. if she wears glasses have a look if she picked a style that makes her lok good. i also wear glasses but would never think of picking a new pair without make up on and dressed good then u will feel happier when u pick a pair u like and see what they will look like if u need to wear them out. try the contacts a bit longer or try a different pair. i as the same with mine but kept with them for a while and can wear them no problem now. good luck.

Well if u had tested you're eyes at an earlier stage or maybe you have but still didn't wear the glasses you would have this problem now you'd have probably gotten thinner lens but you should try getting glasses that aren't outrageously huge so that way they look less goofy

Maybe try different kinds of contacts. Some eye doctors will let you have all kinds of trials until you find the kind you're comfortable with. I'm sure you're the only one that thinks your glasses look goofy. You're just self-concious. There are a lot of attractive peeps that wear them. Maybe even try getting some different frames. Wearing glasses does not make ALL people look goofy. You are not finding the right frames for your face. Shop around until you find something you like. Some styles make people look more attractive-think of it in terms of the sexy librarian.

Get the right kind of glasses. Some of them are very cool looking. You just have to get used to looking at you in glasses. And remember, you can always give contacts another try. You just have to give it time to get used to whatever you decide.

You probably feel that way at the moment because you don't want to wear them. But i bet you look just fine. Glasses are so fashionable now and there seem to be frames to suit everyone.

take a friend to help you pick them out so you get a good frame.
contacts are always uncomfortable at first, but you get used to them after a while. if you don't like your new glasses, try the contacts again.

If you pick the right pair that fits your face and makes you look cute you will be fine. Trust! But you have to keep trying there is a pair for you. Their are gilrs that look beautiful with glasses! GOOD LUCK!
