I don't think they are that old. They seem so much more immature for the most part. I am 33, didn't go to highschool, but got my GED, and then an Associate Degree in Computer Networking. I must confess that if I am feeling especially dumb some days I get on here merely to remind myself there are so many less intelligent people than me.

I think teens make a large percentage of the people on here, but there is a lot of wisdom here too that shows in a lot of the answers that does not come from the youngest generation. Maybe 40% teens and the rest of the more mature generations.

I am a high school grad, some college, but do have a high IQ, altho my memory is getting bad and it affects me in a lot of ways.

I would say there is a lot of varying degrees of intelligence and education, from very low IQ;s to some highly intelligent individuals. It shows in the answers.

I am 30, 2 years of college, Admin. Assistant. I think there are a lot of people on here under the age of 25. The ones with the funky spelling of words are the younger group (not to say the older crowd doesnt have its share of poor spellers!). It really depends on what section you are in though.

I think it pretty much depends on the question asked who's answering it. Just like you can tell when a youngster is asking a question, from the way it's worded or spelling errors. The age range is wide here on Yahoo Answers which is great because it can give you all those different view points.

I agree with you about the age of respondents. I think that age group also asks a preponderance of the questions. Sometimes I get frustrated with the same questions being asked over and over about the same developmental issues. I can, however, be selective in what I choose to answer.

I have a bachelor's degree. I've reached the age where it is no longer attractive to divulge it!

Teenagers mostly, but some who respond surely have to be 10 or younger, with only a few years school some have up to 12 years at school. I'd say they'd make up the core.

Ages of people here between 11 to 25. (Some more, some less)...

Education not nearly as much as they need (in most cases). Some of these questions are serious and we really dislike the flippant answers for the gain of 2 points!

We are upper 40 and lower 50 in age range, between the two of us we have 4 BAs, 3 Masters, and 3 Doctorates. *singing now...and a partridge in a pear tree... All of the degrees are in Sociology/Social Work, Psychology and Criminology. Collectively we have 12 years of college. We are both over-educated. (I bet you don't think that's possible, but it is and it can be a liability when you begin to look for "a position", because after that many years of education you don't get jobs, you get "Positions". I have enough scruples that I will not work for the Private Sector, I have chosen to throw my life away working with prisoners, the financially indigent, Addicts and Community outreach programs. (My peers are the ones who have deemed my choices of positions a waste of my considerably expensive education to work with "the dregs of society"). My husband's salary in the private sector is lucrative, my own salary in comparison is pathetic (and indeed I do some of the work as a volunteer, when my health allows). My benefits package is ample, on the other hand my husband must manage his own investments and "health and retirement package" as things are now, he is covered by my health plan which he also supplements with a private healthcare policy for each of us.

We are comfortable, we both are minimalists so we do not spend a lot of money or drive expensive gas hogs, most of the people who know us socially do not even know the extent of our Education or the wage/tax bracket that we manage. We are mature, and quite frugal (both of us are savers). This has been the way of our lives, I have always worked in "public" work and I am the volunteer in the family. He has always been the primary wage earner for us. Yes, if I were to leave my present job I could make more money in private practice, but I have always believed that we have enjoyed such good fortune, because we give back to society and humanity. We do not simply write a check, we have always been the couple that will go and lend a hand to a person in need. We are not big Church-goers, though both of us do have our beliefs. The core of the belief is living our lives in such a way that we can benefit people who are in need, we do both believe in God, however we do not force our beliefs on others. We are an odd mixture of political turmoil, I suppose you could say we are "moderate conservatives". Pretty darn well for a couple of rats, eh?

Between the two of us, we have a ton of common sense, which actually is more useful than all the degrees in the world (at times). Recently one of my friends, who was splitting with her husband showed me Yahoo Answers, she GAVE us her account because we were interested in it. We hesitated to come in and establish ourselves in her old account. She assured us that it only reminded her of her husband who had been a “rat”. (As you can see by the lone question that she asked when she first opened her account on Yahoo Answers). In honor of the resolution of her problems, her gift to us, our friendship when she was a neighbor, and her showing us fun things on the Internet (and in the great tradition of the rodent “The Yamster”)… We accepted her gift and decided to use a rat or two for our “Avatar”.

Nice to meet you please never fear leaving a good answer or give a kind word of encouragement. Everything someone learns can never be stolen from him or her, it’s truly wonderful to share what you have to give! If Mr. Rattykins had answered this he would not have been so “chatty” I have the day off, so I am playing and about ready for a swim, a shower and a nap. I am salaried, so unlike Mr. Rattykins my schedule is much more flexible.
