my fiancee came in wanting to piss me off last night and he did of course and then he got in the shower I went in there to talk to him and he pushed me i fell to the floor and the shower curtain and rod fell on top of me, my arm hurts today. I love him but im scared that he might actually hurt me one of these days. He would never put his hands on me and now little by little he has been. Hes shoved me before and held my arm so hard that he left his fingers bruised on my arm, held me against the wall. And now this, my son even woke up with all the noise. And now hes pissed off at me, he turned it around and he is acting like he is pissed off at me like it was my fault.

Violence isn't usually a sudden thing...It progresses over time getting worse and worse with each moment. It starts with a push, then a slap, then a punch...It sounds like it's already getting comfortable for him to touch you like that...My suggesstion to you is that if he isn't willing to change how he treats you then you need to walk away before you get seriously hurt.

Best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour - he has done it once, he will do it again. I was in the same situation - and slowly slowly things changed - it got to the physical part after I was pregnant, and worse after our son was born. I was living in a different country at that time, and when my son turned one year old, that was it. I left him, moved back to my country and never looked back. Was it hard? Damn right - but it has been over 5 years now, and it was the best decision I have made.

Should you leave? YES. Sooner the better - you cannot change him.

Yes, I have full custody of our son. A good thing.

oooh! Honey, listen to your instincts! They are shouting at you to be careful and maybe even to get out of this relationship before it turns really abusive. Whatever you do, don't marry this guy or you will be asking for trouble. A man that hits you, or is doing things like this to you, isn't going to stop. Call him on it and get out of this relationship before its too late. Yes you may still love him, but better to have your life and be safe then live with someone who doens't really love you or respect you. Plus you have a son to think about and care for. Do you really want him to have an abusive step-father and to have to see you being hurt?
