It's called nocturnal emission. basically, you have so much spem built up (or "stored in the factory" ) that your body has no choice but to force it out. The dream is probably a result of that.

Think it's coz yer totally relaxed, plus those dreams mostly occur during yer teens, when yer on a hormone high. There may be some unconscious rubbing against jammies, bed or sheets, too.
Funny thing, a former gf told me she'd woke up a couple of times in the middle of the night from having orgasms. Had no idea girls had *wet dreams* too, but apparently, some have.

The dreams can be that vivid. However; I have not had one in many, many years, almost but not quiet. I have another answer.
I have prostate cancer and have no desire for sex, either due to medication, or my condition. I thought I was "impotent". But I have had erections in my dreams and I read that is a sign that I am not impotent even with my condition. My Urologist gave me some sample "Viagra", and a prescription for "Cialis". I have not used either as of yet, but I have had no sex either. "Viagra" should be taken two hours before intercoarse.
