I just recently purchased a 2006 Civic SI, which is stock pushing 197 hp. It's a simple question, who can tell me what all mods I can do, how much they will cost, and how much HP they will add?

Also is it true a super/turbo actually hurts your engine and will take years off the motor?

Yes super chargers and turbos do take time off of your motor but if your goona race it you'll find your always replacing and or fixing something on the car so it doesn't really matter its been my experience with Hondas the best upgrades you can do is make it BREATHE! Start off with a cold air intake move to a larger throttle body and larger mass flow air sensor then go with larger fuel injectors and better plugs and wires the get a sweet header and get a good free flowing exhaust all in all this package would run you about 1500 to 2500 depending on the degree of performance you want and of course how much cash your willing to spend!

You can turbo and nitrous all day long, but the simplest way to get more horse power is with more displacement. Rip out that tired little engine and replace it with a good old fashioned Chevy rat motor.
If that is not an option, turbo charging or super charging can provide the best bang for the buck. The issue of longevity lies maiinly in the user. Beat it a lot and don't maintain it, and it will got to 7734 in a hurry.

Bolt Ons:
Cold Air intake W/K/N 5Hp
Cat Back exhaust system 5-10HP
Underdrive Pullies - 2Hp
Lightweight Flywheel - better responce
Chip - Higher Red Line

Advance bolt Ons:
Performance Headers - 20Hp
NOS kit - 30% increase
Performance Cams - 10Hp
Turbo Charger - 20%-60%
Inter Cooler

Turbo Charger only harm engines when there is too much boost. As a rule of thumb any engine recieving a forced air induction kit shoudl be hardened. ie balanced crank, forged light weight pistons, 4 bolt mains, performance rods.

turbo and intercooler is the easiest and probably the best way.You dont get nothing for nothing, any increase in HP will shorten engine life.50% increase.
