1. I don't see how a lifetime of exercising the muscles around the jaw would NOT make them larger.
2. Larger jaw muscles might affect the appearance of the jaw line, but I'd guess that the change occurs in more defined MUSCLES, most of which are toward the back part of the jaw. Try this: poke your fingers against the outside of your cheeks while you make chewing motions with your jaw. Don't bite your cheek. You dont feel muscles in your cheeks because the muscles are more toward the back.
If these muscles are going to affetc the line of the jaw, it miight do something to that right-angle corner of the jaw, below your ears.
Now that I think about it, aren't the muscles that move the jaws located up along side of the head. All you should have connectiong to the lower jaw should be tendons.

I'm not sure about that but make sure you don't look like a goat when chewing. It doesn't really look nice esp when you're a lady.
But I know chewing gum helps the teeth. Er, I don't know how to explain. The tartar thing..whatever.

kind of seems to me it would make it more defined?? I do know that it can cause your jaw to pop. unless your friend is a dr. though ask your dr. for a second opinion.
