Question on spam.?

Just curious, why do I never get spam email? I don't want any, but just curious. My computers have been clean of any viruses, and I do use my account with email clients if that has anything to do with it. And I haven't had virus yet because I'm on a Mac. I use Hotmail, Yahoo, and .Mac.

I know viruses aren't spam, but some viruses search through address books looking for contacts.

If you haven't signed up for anything using your email address, that's probably why.
