Do I have to have yahoo as homepage in order to access their games, question/answer site, mail, etc?

No you just need a Yahoo ID, it doesn't matter what's your homepage.

Not needed.
To play games u need J2RE (Java 2 Runtime Environment) about 15mb.
To access other things, only a free Yahoo! ID is required.

no you dont have to set yahoo as your homepage to check mail and play games...its just nice to have it all on one page

Nope, you don't... you just have to go to their homepage to find the info you need to open the games..
