I know this may sound stupid but I took 2 birth control pills one day and the next 2 more all to stop my period from coming (I get horrible migraines on my periond). I had cramps, was emotional, nauseous, and smells made me gag after taking those 4 pills. I took 3 tests -- all were negative. This was all like 3-4 wks ago-- and now I'm gaining a small amount of weight and my boobs are a bit bigger. I was just wondering what you guys think. Thanks!

Yes, depends on the type of pill you have. The way that many pills work is by tricking your body into thinking it is already pregnant - so you can't get pregnant again. Birth control pills contain hormones which affect weight gain and breasts. But also, you should not self medicate. There are other options than overdosing on your birth control pills. On seasonale pills you only get your period 4 times per year. Many women on depo provera stop getting their periods. Also it could be the hormones during your period that is causing your headaches so you should switch to a different kind of birth control pill.

Yes, birth control pills can make you feel pregnant. They will give you the same symptoms if taken in large doses. The hormones used in BC pills are the same that are produced during pregnancy, that's why you are getting those symptoms. Taking the prescribed dosage and not doubeling up on them will help the symptoms go away. If you have that bad of periods, you should talk to your doctor. There are new treatments out there to help with that. Good luck!!

Instead of taking two pills, if you want to stop your period from coming, just don't take the placebo (iron) pills, just start a new pack. You can do that for 3 or 4 packs. You will only start your period when you quit taking the pills, and finally take the iron pills. Talk to your doctor about it, they actually have birth control pill packs taht are like 9 - 10 weeks of pills, then one week of period.

Please consult with your ob/gyn doctor about the use of the birth control pills. It is important to follow their directions and not take more or less than prescribed. There can be serious health risks from not following what the doctor says and only your doctor knows what is right for you. You might want to consult with a pharmacist too. They are there to answer all questions about drugs you are taking and are the best source of information when it comes to medications.

Not sure about the last few symptoms but I have done this before. When I double up for one day I'm okay, but two days or more, I had all those symptoms, I felt very sick.
