I have govt. agencies from two States helping, but he quits jobs and/or moves around to aviod paying or being punished. I have never failed to stay on top of this issue. At divorce, I offered to let him give up parental rights and he declined, so WHY does he refuse to pay? I gave him that option and he chose to owe! He can't see kids, they hate him and want nothing to do with them because he hurt them whenever they visited him so we got an Order of Protection. All he had to do was love them... he ruined their relationship! Even his own laywers hated him and said he was stupid.. but the kids deserve this money so I take the time to keep fighting for them. He is in Gallipolis Ohio at this time.

Have you filed contempt for his non-payment through your court system? If not do so, and if you have, file another one. He probably won't show, but when he doesn't the judge will issue an arrest warrant. They might not get him right away, but eventually they will. If he so much as gets stopped for a speeding ticket, the warrant from your state will appear on his record and they'll hold him. Once they transport him, he'll have to sit until he comes up with a big chunk of the arrears. I know you may have two agencies helping you, but keep in mind that they are only doing this for a percentage. If you want the money to go towards the children, you can do it yourself. If you need the paperwork, simply call your local clerk of courts office and they will direct you where to get it...it's often free. I wish you luck honey and if your children really wanted to get back at him, they'd stay in school till they were 19. Child support doesn't stop at 18 if the children are still in school...it stops at 19, so that first year of college, he'd be responsible for. Also keep in mind that these arrears don't go away. You can place leins on his vehicles, house and any other reasonable property he has worth value. I wish you well.

As far as I know, which isn't much, is that right now the state and fed will put a lein on any reported income.
Your kids can be 25 y/o, but if he is in the arrears on child support, they will still garnish his wages.
They will take any lottery winnings, any inheritances.
He will be completely screwed until he makes good or you release him of any responsibility.

No matter how old they are or whether they get emancipated or not,he will still owe the arrears and the state will not give up on him to pay them.

In answer to your question, no emancipation will not absolve him of the accrued child support, it will merely stop accruing. Continue toi diligently track him down.
