I live in Royal Oak and my family stays FAR away from Woodward. I'm not into classic cars so it's really just an inconvenient weekend for me.

I went and it was AWESOME! Cruised in our 71 cutlass for a while, then parked (next year will be with the MotorCity Rockets) and walked about 8 miles, then ate a late lunch, then got out our chairs and sat and watched the cruisers. Saw some FANTASTIC cars. Really makes you feel like you went back in time.
The part that Irks me is they should ONLY allow the classics on that road for the cruise. So many idiots driving regular cars getting in the right 2 lanes when it was only for cruisers. Blocking the great cars so you can't get good pics. That is the only thing I would change.

Can't wait until Aug 19th to watch "Cruisers and spectators travel up and down a 16-mile stretch of legendary Woodward Avenue through the nine communities of Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak."

Well, a whole lot of people went. I work as a dispatcher for a tow company and I swear, it was the busiest week we have ever had. Glad it is over. We repaired a whole lot of awesome classic cars!!!!!!!

I am so *&(@! tired of this dream cruise. It wasn't so bad when it was just the weekend, but it seems every year these idiots are out here earlier and earlier. This year, they started cruising a WHOLE WEEK in advance. For those of us who live around here, it makes it extremely difficult to get around.
(sorry, thanks for letting me vent...)

I've never heard of it. What is it? The world's largest one-day celebration of car culture that attracts over 1.7 million visitors, and more than 40000 muscle cars ... ? Sounds like a bunch of wasted gas, polution over a bunch of pieces of metal with rubber tires. I'll be there.
