Because you stop looking when you find something, so it is always in the last place you look.

Most people stop looking once they find what they are looking for so therefore it is always in the last place they look.
Every once in a while I will choose to continue looking once I have found the sought after item. That way the item isn't always in the last place I look and I can';t say that it is.
I feel I am a better person for this.

There is a great passage in Winnie the Pooh where they are lost and they are trying to find the path. Someone suggests (I can't remember who, it has been years) that they try to look for something else, because when you are looking for something you are always guaranteed to find something you had been looking for in the past.
There are however some cases where it is not the last place you looked. For example let's say you wanted to find a prom dress. You find your prom dress at Macy's but then you continue looking at other stores, but later realize that the one you really like the best is at Macy's. In that case what you were looking for was the first place you looked.

Well if she found it why would she continue looking? The reason it's always the last place you look is because you STOP LOOKING ONCE YOU FOUND IT...
It makes a lot of sense actually

Of course, cus if you finds in the first place you look, its the last place you look too. the first and the last, and all are going to find it int he last place. If you find it in the seconds, its the last too.
