Yup! - It's essentially a combination of hide-and-go-seek and tag.
A can is placed in a yard or field ar wherever and one person counts while others hide. If the "seeker" catches someone before they can kick the can, they are out. If one of the "hiders" kicks the can. The round is over and all the others can come out. My grandparents lived in a wooded area and we spent HOURS playing when we were kids.

I loved it as a kid-- I grew up in the city, so during lunch everyone would go to the playground. There was usually trash on the ground and every so often there would be an empty soda can. Someone would start kicking it to someone else who would kick it back and then sides would naturally form as more kids joined in. We'd stop when the can got too smashed to kick around or the bell rang and we had to go back to school.

Yeah !!!! I did, and I had so much fun. That has been years ago !! Thanks for reminding me about those days because I loved playing that game. I can remember it like it was yesterday. The fun things were just being outside on those warm summer nights with all of my friends, the laughter.... it was great !! I would love to play it again, I wonder if it would take me back....

One of the greatest games that you can play without costing a thing. When I was young we used to play it in the neighborhood at twilight, there would be 10 to 12 people playing at a time. Thanks for reminding me.

yeah...kick the can is a pretty fun game! But once when I was playing with my cousins and friends, my cousin kicked it and it hit my friend in the eye... owch.....but she was OK. =)
Tether-ball is so much fun! This year I'm going to be in volley ball, basketball, and track. yay!

YES!! I grew up playing that game. That 's a fun game for kids. It's a shame kids today sit in front of a tv playing video games. They're missing out and getting fat.

Yeah, that is what you do when a) you don't have any money and b)when you don't have any money. You have to improvise. A can works good.
When I was growing up I played tetherball with an empth milk jug with some rocks in it. That was dangerous, but fun
