My advice is to speak to a lawyer and the best, most inexpensive way to do this is through Pre-Paid Legal Services. For more information visit the website below, and feel free to contact me through that site if you have further questions on how this service may be able to help you. I encourage you to find out what your rights and options are in this situation. If you sign up today you can ask your question tomorrow.

A thief can get your information from multiple places. What most people don't understand is that only 28% of identity theft affects your credit. Thieves can get drivers licenses in your name and commit crimes under your identity. They can get medical coverage of which you end up paying the bills. They can work under your SSN and take your benefits. It is quite scary really. AND what the banks and credit card companies aren't telling you, is that the FTC has a guideline in place that says that you have 60 days, count em, 60 days to notify them of theft of your identity in writing to NOT BE LIABLE FOR COSTS RACKED UP IN YOUR NAME. After 60 days, it's your problem and you get to pay for everything the thief bought. Well, what if the thief changed your address and you never get your statements? If you want more information, please email me at donnys_bride@yahoo.com. I can show you a way to protect your identity for $13 a month. It's great because your credit is watched 24/7 and when a report is pulled, you are notified within 48 hours.
