Who knows if she will even kill him?? She may just be playing coy so nobody can really guess what she is doing. I would hate for her to kill him though, I think he needs to marry Ginny and become the headmaster of Hogwarts someday.

Well, I can't say I'm "happy" about the idea, but it certainly is a viable outcome for the series. I think Rowling puts alot of thought into her books, and she would be failing us, as readers, if she didn't explore this as a possible end result in the battle between Harry and Voldemort.
Her books have taken on a much darker tone of late, and the kids in the story are being exposed more and more to the idea that good doesn't always triumph. Therefore, Harry dying would fit into the world she has been revealing to us.
However, I would be dissappointed if Voldemort were to win in the end. That doesn't mean Harry can't die, but good should definitely win in the end, otherwise, I would feel cheated.

"When did she say she was going to kill Harry? All she said is that two characters die and one recieved a repreive. However, I think Harry is a hors crux and retains the very last of Voldemorts soul and must die."
My friend thinks the same. However, didn't Jo mention that a Hor Crux would not call attention to itself (when discussing the Sorting Hat Theory)? (This defeated my friends theory of the sorting hat being one, too. It sings, for gods sake).
Harry Potter definately calls attention to himself, any way you think about it. And also, why would he want to destroy his on Hor Crux? It would be pointless...
Anyways, my friend and I share a theory that in the prophecy, it was stated "One cannot live while the other dies". Therefore they both must die. So Harry will perhaps sacrifice himself?
Jo made a "slip up" at the reading with Stephen King and John Irving. She was asked who she'd invite to dinner, and instantly said 'Harry, Ron and Hermione'. Then she thought about it, and when the audience started shouting names, she said 'No no, I only know who's going to die'.. Therefore making it sound like Harry, Ron and Hermione will live. Maybe she forgot momentarily that she's killed one? Or maybe they live?
I think that covers anything. Most of you hardcore fans out there will probably already know all of this, lol. Unfortunately, I'm not a crazy Potter Fan, so most of my knowledge is my opinion or something I was told through my friend, who just happens to be slightly obsessed.

J.K. Rowling has already stated that two main characters will die in the seventh and final book of the "Harry Potter" series, but that it WILL NOT be Harry.

I'm not so sure she has really actually said anything about killing off Harry... it's other people & other writers who are hawking this idea. But if she does kill off Harry in the last book, oh well... it was a great series, it was fun & interesting & it introduced more children than ever to the joys of reading & literature. =)

I don't think she specifially said Harry was going to die. She said 3 main characters. She also said a main character would die when it was only Serious Black. So who knows what she considers "3 main characters" to be. Her only thoughts were that if she did kill Harry, then no one else could write more books from a series she started.

Well she doesn't need anyone to buy her next series, she is one of the richest women in the world.
Regardless, I'm sure she'll want it to sell.
I think people may still buy it if she kills off Harry. I am glad she has. He needs killing! You can't win all the time, that trait of a hero is getting old. If she didn't do it I'd track him down myself and take a whack on that mark on his forehead myself. Of course Daniel Radcliffe may not like that and sue me.

It is already difficult to continue interested in her next Harry Potter after she killed Dumbledore...a lot of other things in the plot have been more of a disappointment than an enticement for me.
