Native Americans are permitted under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act to use peyote for religious purposes. However, peyote is NOT smoked. The buttons of the cactus can be chewed. There are also reports that peyote can be prepared as a tea.

Yeah, I think it's true (but not smoked). I've heard that some people in prision convert to their religion so they can trip. Also the Yaqui Indians from my state (I live in Mexico) are also permitted to do Peyote. There's also this little town or reservetion in central Mexico where they grow magic mushrooms in huge fields and it's legal, but only inside there. People can go camping and trip on the shrooms. I've never been there, but some friends have and they said it's awesome. Too many hippies tho.

Wow. Probably the most intriguing questions Ive obvious today lol. Well the government will say that there is not any way to tell who's religious and who shouldn't be. I say permit it, and legalize it alltogether, and you understand why? Look at prohibition, then appear at the upward thrust and decline of the crime cost for the duration of that period. If we legalized an herb, would it now not be the same? Let people make their own selections about their our bodies. As a minimum weed doesnt make Billy Bob beat his youngsters. I do think in an age restrict although.

I think it is true. Or maybe it's only on reservations. They are also the only people allowed to have bald eagle feathers in their possession.

I think the Yaqui (spelling) are the ones that do this. They are in northern Mexico.
