Because it's going to happen, the Central is the dominant division this year and the wild card is coming from there.

I love it!!! What's ESPN gonna do when the Bo Sox don't even make the playoffs, and the Yankers go out in the first round? With a Tigers/Oakland ALCS the "worldwide leader" will have to pretend baseball is over and go right into 80% SportsCenter content being about the Lakers.

Doesn't bother me when the Red Sux don't get in.
tylejd must not realize that if the wild card comes out of the Central and the Tigers finish with the best record, Detroit and Oakland will probably meet in the ALDS, not ALCS.

if it means I get to not hear every Red Sox fan say how great their team is for a whole year then Please god don't let the Red Sox make the playoffs and as a baseball fan I'd rather see other teams make the playoffs it's more exciting

I think you mean not going to the world series. As long as Toronto doesn't beat them both one of them will make the playoffs. As long as the Yankees don't make it, I can live with the Red Sox not making it. But that won't happen.

It doesn't bother me anymore than the fact that the Royals and Pirates may not go the playoffs this year.

lol, I think its funny people really thought/think the wild card would/will come from the Central. Oakland/Detroit/New York/Boston will be in the playoffs.

Actually, one of them has to because there is no way the Blue Jays are going to win the AL East. But, if they didn't make it to the ALCS, I wouldn't care. I think their rivalry is overrated. Neither team is good enough to make it to the world series anymore. I really won't care.
