This depends on the rest of your car and the one that you're racing. Most actual race cars today have automatic transmissions.

A winner of a race is not determnd by the car or whats in the car but the driver! Yea you can wrap a manual out higher but you cant out shift an automatic! But if your streert racing you and the other guy are both losers take it to the track!

I used to own a 95 Honda Civic that was automatic trani. I would beat other Honda's that were stick shift and I even raced an ambulance and won.
What you want to do is start out in low gear, redline it and shift to a higher gear.
Good luck and be safe. P.S. It was a racing automatic transmission. Not a stock or factory one, I also had other components that added speed.

It depends on the purpose of the race. If the purpose is to try and get killed the fastest, using a car with automatic transmission is your best bet; that is of course assuming that you aren't having the race against a suicide bomber at a guard station in Iraq.

Only if its a slower manual car. and even then.....
This is because when you have a manual transmission you can redline in any gear. You push acceleration out regardless of how fast the car was meant to be. You lose so much control when you stick to automatic. Try switching and you'll find out how boring it is to drive in automatic.
I didn't learn that on a manual car...i learned how to ride a bike and then got back into my automatic car. snooze fest.

possible, depends on the race and the rules of course. generally in a street race for money...it's so much per gear...which you can't do since you don't have manual gears to go thru. However, if it's flat out racing to the finish...it's always possible.

Are you retarded? Yes it completely depends on what you are racing. If your automatic is an Audi S4 with an automatic and you are racing a stock Honda, you will whoop it's A$$. 95% of your chances depend on your motor.

Yes. . . if the car has minimal weight and good engine performance then you can likely get that car moving pretty fast. . . its if your racing a car equal or better to your car that has a standard transmission. . . then you probably won't win. But then again, the driver could suck.
