The Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked #1 because they have depth. Just because their defense lost many starters doesn't mean they have a weak defense. Much like Vince Young, Troy Smith is one hell of an athlete. OSU lost extremely close games to both Texas and Penn State last year so, they will be out for paybacks. Michigan could be a tough game, but it is at the Horseshoe this year. Texas will not repeat this year without Young.

OSU's Defense is still filled with experienced players a lot of these new starters would have started for any other school in the country last year
