Unfortunately Windows doesn't always install correctly and some drivers and functions may not work or be missing altogether...Take my word for it, you're best just to start all over again by re-formating the harddrive and doing a Clean install...This last time I reinstalled Windows, I had to do it 3 times before I got a correctly working installation without any problems...Yea I know it's a pain in the *ss.

I'll agree with the first answer, to re-install Windows. I do not believe Flashing BIOS will help you with standby. There could be an option in powersaving options. That can be found in Control Panel.

Really? Just a guess without doing any research, but maybe you need to flash BIOS or make sure all drivers are loaded and updated.
