my cruise control is engaging on it's own, and causing the cruise set light and check trans. light to come on, if i don't see it right away to disengage it, my truck dies!! supposedly there are two computers in the rodeo, does anyone know which one has the cruise in it, we just want to take it out!! or any other ideas? it doesn't come up on the diagnostic check!!

You don't indicate the year. It probably won't be possible to remove the cruise control from the vehicle, as it is integrated into the PCM. There is most likely damage to the wiring somewhere in the turn signal/cruise control switch. If you don't want to repair (or can't afford) then the simplest action to take is to pull the Cruise Control fuse. That should disable it.
