When do the distributors or whoever decide it's not worth playing the movie in theatres any more?

I think it depends on the cost it actually takes to show the movie vs the amount of money that the movie takes in.

I think it also depends on how many new movies are coming out. If there are no new movies coming out and the movie is still making some profit, then they will keep showing it, but if a new movie that is supposed to make a lot of money is coming out then of course they are going to replace the old movie with the new one.
