I need to find a website that is legal for downloading music for a minimal, monthly cost. Any ideas would be appreciated.

if you don't want to install anything on your computer, you use the search engine www.dogpile.com pr www.singingfish.com and type in the artist and song title, and then click "audio" and they will return all audio results they found. look at the time/duration of the songs that show up to see if they're :30 second samples or actual full songs, then just right click the name and "Save target as...". this works because the search engine searches for websites or hosts that are hosting that song (which means someone uploaded it to a website...NOT P2P). usually, you won't find really obscure songs, nor is it common to find full albums, but if it's like some song you heard on the radio and you liked it, there's a good chance you'll find it here =)
happy searching.

i've also heard of www.mp3musiq.com, but never tried it

www.music.download.com and www.epitonic.com are free and legal. Most are alternative bands with sample songs, but there are hours worth of gems there.
