Because people are obsessed with getting points. I asked a question once asking why people do someting stupid and this one girl answers telling me that life's too short to get mad about it.
Personally, I think her life's too short to be telling me what to do.

You're right and so is everyone else that has answered you. People want the easy two points even if their answer is meaningless. I have the same feelings about people who answer questions with "I don't know". It's simple. If you don't know, you shouldn't answer.
