A pen drive is in fact not a hard drive but USB based flash memory drive. You simply plug it into your computer and use it as a floppy disk.
Pen drives (As a manufacturer) are typically not sold to private people, but to companies, branded with a trade mark of the company's choice. So it's hard to give a price estimate for that manufacturer.
A good guess is that a USB flash drive of 512 MB will generally cost about $25-30.

Pen drives are USB Flash Drives that have any range of memory. They plug into the USB port on any computer and is recognized as a "removable disk." The biggest Flash Drive I've seen is 4GB, it's portable but a bit expensive. A USB hard drive is a better way to go as most of them are portable and have more memory than flash drives.

A pen drive is not a hard disk, it is a USB flash memory drive. They are very small and plug into your USB port so you can easily transfer data wherever you need to.

These are usually called keydrives as they have keyrings attached to them.
You put it into your USB slot in your PC and it shows up as a disk drive in windows. You can then copy files to and from it as if it was a disk.
You can then take it to another PC and copy files from and to it there too.
they are very useful little gadgets
They come in different sizes and cost from about £10 upwards.
If you are interested in one look at

and search for key drives
I got one that is 1 gigbyte (which is fairly big) for about £16ish about 6 months ago.
