I am alone in a crowded room, I look for people that blend in too well like I do, the people that stand out to me are the ones that hide in plain sight, the ones that bring their own world with them, and are intense like me.
I look for people that bring with them the power to learn and change, people that don't grab onto superficial existence and stop changing, people that can see the multiplicities of truths that exist simultaneously, people that carry the tools to change the world in their minds and hearts.

I look at all aspects when people watching. I used to love it when I would fly and I'd be waiting for a flight...the way some of the people looked when they got off the plane was extremely comical! Comedic value is a major plus for me when people watching.
One of my favorite things to laugh at when people watching is seeing the parents that have their kids on leashes. That cracks me up! It used to make me mad (when I had my first two children {15 and 17 years ago}), but seeing how fast my 20 month old gets around (ok...surprise visit from the stork when I was 39)...I can see where a leash would be handy. HAHA
Like I said...COMEDIC VALUE is a plus!

I love people watching. I find I usually don't have to "look" for anything at all. People are just interesting to me. I tend to like people and make positive assesments about them. I like to look for thier positive attribute in that moment. It might be a great smile, or they way they hold themselves or the awesome old lady that still trys to "doll it up", or it might be them wearing or doing something that I would never think of and most would probably think "what where they thinking?" but if they are doing or wearing it proudly (not in a snobish way), awesome, way to go. I love that.
OBTW: just in case I made myself sound to peace loving angelic, let me clarify, I also enjoy the occasional snicker at the "camel toe" or the "mullet" that just walked by. That really makes the day fun.

emotion. I watch sincerely for those emotional leaks which give a hint at the meaning these people have in their lives. In Dublin in university years ago i used to go to this cafe which overlooked a street which had a beggar in it. I would people watch the folks' reactions to the beggar and the beggars Rereactions-VERY interesting!
I look for the shining of meaning in people so that i may greater understand their drives and fears in order to understand those in MY life and myself.
Those that truly stand out are never seen-they are the watchers.
Beware! lol

Actually, I try to AVOID looking at people because I wish people would NOT watch me! The fact remains we humans judge people by their outside shell and like to imagine we know what a person really by how nature created them. I think this is hypocrisy and I don't understand people's obession with judging others by their "looks". I discovered by experience that some people who appear to be smiling all the time are actually evil manipulators who play on the fact they look "good" (by always smiling) to chram their way into their victims. Sounds grim? Welcome to reality, baby!

Ha! I dunno where you live but its really fun to people watch in Tokyo. All you need to do is just look at anyone. Everyone seems to carry their own story in the way they dress, hold themselves, and who they're with. But unlike most I like to make up stories for these people purely based on aspects of what I see. They can be cruel however it tends to be that the more cruel I am the funnier it is.

I used to think that I love people-watching because I am attracted to good looking folks. Now I feel that whatever the person looks like, it's really the x-factor, perhaps a certain sparkle in their eyes, or charisma that attracts me.

I actually like to watch the ordinary.... a mother with her child, a couple holding hands, two old men having a discussion....each is interesting in its own way.

I LOVE to people watch, one of my favorite hobbies.
If you're different and stand out from the crowd (male or female), you'll get my attention ;-) Good ways to stand out are unique dress, hairstyle/color...and most importantly, your attitude. Your walk conveys a lot about you :-)

Agreed, I look for people who 'sparkle' in their own way
I look out for beautiful young ladies (of whom there are many)
People behaving eccentrically or are distinctive
People with slogans on their T-shirts (always interesting)
Interesting items of clothing or accessories
