Fantastic geographical setting
Good healthcare
Great infrastructure
Great food: you can get almost every cuisine of the world here, including Russian food!
Safe environment: crime rates are generally low
A multiracial and multicultural society
Good shopping
People need to be more civic-conscious
Fast paced: people tend to look cold cos they are always in a rush..they aren't (anyone see the similarity with New York?)
Generally a good government, one of the least corrupted in the world
Very hot, very humid..so people generally tend to dress casually or smart casual
Generally prosperous society
Competitive society
Highly commercialised
Reasonable civil liberties for a nation that is so young (note to those who dont agree: how many years did it take for America and Europe to get their civil liberties, taking into account the history of their countries?)
Singlish is spoken here
Has many things in common with its closest neighbours, Malaysia and Indonesia
Need more genuine tourist attractions (the Zoological Gardens with Night Safari is a good example of what is "genuine")
That's all I can think of for the moment.

I've been to Singapore for a month on holiday & I had a fantastic time.
The people are friendly, helpful & honest (a taxi driver returned my purse without even looking at the contents).
The shopping is great, you can find some amazing bargains & of course some of the brand name copies are very good too.
The food is good too all types are available from traditional Singaporian to McDonalds to five star haute cuisine to street vendors & providing you use common sense you can eat surprisingly well quite cheaply.

Comparing to other big cities in Asia, it's boring. It's clean, it's safe... Shopping, it can't beat HK and Tokyo. There are just too many rules from teh government that make the city boring. However, because of the rules, it's very safe. People are OK, but not that flexible, services is not very good, again when comparing to other cities. We called it Sillypore sometimes.. :D

Not the way it used to be, that's for sure.
Only like heading down to watch fireworks during X'Mas nothing more âº
Food's nothing to shout 'bout, same goes with the shopping. I do however admire their zoological gardens.
Singapore to me *to use an analogy* is like a glossy magazine cover with the model's features being digitally retouched over & again resulting in a lackluster, "plastic" appearance.

The place to be! Melting pot of multi races/cultures living harmoniously together. Clean and safe city, no guns/drugs/corruption. High standards of living, place where everything works! Great for living and bringing up children.
