I build Water Treatment Plants..,Let me tell you..,
When all that comes into a plant is SH*T.., it attracts flies.., right.., well .., I may not be the most observant person in the world.., but how I missed this clue is even beyond my "head up the *ss" routine.
There are no flies.., mmmm!
One day I needed to survey an area of the plant.., all woods and swamp..,and while walking through a heavy wooded area.., off in my own world.., I walked into a spider's web that was AT LEAST 10 -11feet wide,by, 12-13 feet high!!!!
SO !!! SCREAMING like a little girl.., ( and I am 6'1", 240), I see this thing coming down from the top of the web at me..,it was not quite as big as a tennis ball .., but ,HEY, I wasn't going to get close enough to measure it..,
I am sinking just past the top of my work boots in mud/water..,
Trying to run out I ran into MORE..,
I guess I see the wretched creatures multiplying faster than I care for..,
HAVE A GREAT DAY

Yes, they have been placed by Hollywood as a promo for Samuel L Jackson movie next year called 'Spiders on a bus'. Not as big budget as this years film but they are running out of ideas now.
When you say take out, do you mean for a meal or a movie?

No, but I want to warn you about a new spider they have found in Miami and on an airplane. This was in the newspaper. It is a small spider that either has a red back or red legs. Two people in Miami were bitten by one and one man on an airplane. All three died before they could find out what was wrong with them!

It's odd that you mentioned that as I was just thinking myself that I have seen a lot of spiders lately! Luckily, I only find one on occasion in my house-but it seems like I can't get rid of them from front porch and back deck. I am constantly removing webs!
I am beginning to believe that is must be because we didn't really have a winter here even though our winters are not normally that cold. Still, we at least have a few days where we get below freezing.

I live in Texas, and yes, there are way more spiders than usual! (especially in our house). From what i know, the southern states usually have more spiders indoors because of the extremely hot climate outside. In Texas, I believe we've received an unprecedented 30-some odd days of new record, the record for most new high temperatures in one year. Perhaps the climate change could be directly related to the amounts of spiders?
But living with arachnophobia isn't all good and great when spiders are at their peak. And as in your house, our house is quite clean. There isn't any food out left anywhere, and there arent any bugs in the house to catch, only the spiders dwell with their webs in corners of the household. So what we did is destroy the eggs and such outside of the house, usually in high areas near shade or facing opposite towards sunlight. getting rid of these will usually minimize the amounts of spiders, but it can't totally get rid of all of them.
Wherever you may live may differ from the way spiders reproduce in Texas. But i hope this helps!
The eggs dwell in high dark places, usually hanging or suspended on the insides of corners (i.e. beneath the gutters and near the top of the wall {in that small pocketed corner}).

Yes! Me too! I can't believe how huge some of the ones in my garden are. I had to take a picture of one it was so huge!!! The creepiest thing is, it was so big that when it ran away, I could HEAR it running! Seriously, I could hear it's legs going over the plastic of my landscape fabric. I mean, that's just wrong. When a spider is that big, it freaks me out!

Yes we are noticing a lot of spiders too. I have sprayed the door and window areas, the outside area of the house, and they are still getting in some how. Our house is closed up with the air on so this is strange of how many keep appearing inside our house. It's mostly the daddy long leg spiders.

Yes, loads and they're BIG! Every so often, my 16-year old daughter starts to scream, then sob, and I have to go and catch the offender. At one point, she was saying that she'd have to leave home as we have so many spiders! One was so large that my boyfriend got a bit worried about catching it. he got a glass over it, but when offered a postcard to slide under, insisted on having something more substantial!

No. I can't even recall when I've seen a spider last. Also, I only saw one mosquito this year. Of course, I live and work in the concrete jungle of NYC.

Yes! My window screens and porch posts are postively lined with them! My acrachniphobe sibling tear down the webs and smush the innocent spiders, and yet, everynight the same spots are re-webbed.
And I live in the suburbs! I agree it is a spider influx, but it isn't an invasion... yet (like the cicada broods from two years ago)
