If I was president, I would put money into making campaigns that show that good Muslims are equal to every other religion. This could mean having them in higher positions, as long (as we're sure they don't have bad intentions) we could help some Muslims become movie stars also. We have to show terrorists that we're not racists and their the ones not respecting other people's religion. They should see that we don't hate Muslims. Bin Laden has said that we don't respect Muslims in the US and that we don't respect Muslim countries. He says that is one big reason why he attacks us. I would appoint more, highly diplomatic ambassadors to go and tour Middle Eastern countries. We can talk to all countries, even if they support terrorism. My opinion is that we should talk to all countries, even if they don't talk to countries that don't like the US. We have to know what their opinion is and how we can somehow agree on things. I wopuld put more influence behind the UN. The UN is obviously a peacekeeping organiztion that would really help if more muscle was added to them. I would help them get that muscle so they can do what they can be capable of doing. I hope that you see what I am saying. Many people say that a New World Order is another way to bring peace. I believe that it could, but I don't know how the government would work out. Hope that you understand what I'm saying.

I would sanction the US oil industry and US weapons manufacturers and force them to withdraw all commercial interests from hostile countries. Then I'd withdraw all ground forces from hostile countries. Then I would focus efforts on transforming the United States to a non-fossil fuel based economy, which is absolutely do-able. We would reconstruct our power grid to one which operates without fossil fuels. It would have a non-polluting power source that would be continuous and not require refueling. I know how. At the same time we would be transforming our transportation system from one of paved highways to an elevated high speed electric monorail system which would be used for mass transit and for private electric cars. Private cars and publics vans and busses would run on the rail between cities and towns and across cities but would also operate on the streets in towns and neghborhoods the way cars do now, only they would be all electric.
We would continue to enlarge the energy grid source and offer the same non-polluting continuously renewing energy to other nations, as well as promote our electric transportation system technology in other nations. Of course, controlling the energy supply of the globe would also put the US in control of the global economy, so this would be done carefully, guided by the highest morality. Then I would focus efforts on reducing greenhouse gas to pre-fossil fuel age levels, and start removing highway fences and pavement that we don't need, taking out the river dams we don't need, and reclaiming mines and oil fields that we don't need.
Simultaneously, I would promote the development of a space based defense system powered by the new grid which would include particle-beam guns and lasers. These would replace our missiles and our missile defense systems, giving us the capability to accurately destroy targets at near-light speed, meaning within seconds from the time the decision was made to destroy it. The target could be an individual person or even a virus infected bird, we could surgically destroy it. It could also be 1000 simultaneously launched ballistic missiles, a fleet of ships, or a city, the same system could be used the destroy the targets within seconds of deciding to do it. Once this was fully operational I would pull all US ground forces out of all foreign countries.
That's some of what I would do if I were president.

As your President, I will encourage economic, technological, cultural, social, even religious exchange programs with all countries in the Middle East. That way, we will flood the place with American culture, products, money, technology, and ideas.

I will do the same for Cuba. As your President, I will lift the trade embargo immediately, and allow Americanization to proceed unhindered and at a rapid rate. In fact, I would treat Cuba as a de facto state, giving Cubans the utmost of opportunities to invest in America, and for Americans to invest in Cuba.

I know that my southern sugar growing friends would not like thgis idea, because of the competition with Cuba in the sugar trade. I understand their fears, but we can work out an equitable program in which competition will be good for all parties concerned.

I also understand the concerns of my Cuban fellow citizens in America. To them I say, fear not - the best revenge is massive success, is it not?

Love, Jack.

Considering the history of the region, that would never happen.
It is not in the nature of the Islamic religion, to ever live in peace.
They have always said one thing and done the oppisite.
The only way to have peace in the Middle East , would be to kill everyone there.

I would do exactly what the president is doing because ignorant delusions of being peaceful will make others peacefull has been proven not to work in isreal. Isreal gave the terrorist what they wanted and in return they were attacked. Only by achieving military or economic victory over your enemies can peace be achieved.

Start with education. I saw a TV news report showing Middle Eastern seven-year-old kids being praised for drawing pictures of people being shot, people shooting, people bleeding, etc. That's how a lot of the violence starts. People do what they are taught. I don't know what method(s) would help teach people different, but there has to be some way.

First, I'd revoke US funding to Israel until it complies with international laws and withdraws from the West Bank, which it has been illegally occupying for 30 years. I would no longer advocate giving Israel a free pass in the Security Council whenever it commits war crimes. Then, I'd take that money and spend it on social programs in under-developed Arab countries.

there will never be peace in the mid- east...
there is no reasoning with people who want to cut your head off..
the only thing you can do is work towards justice..
wishing for peace doesn't get anything done..
wishes don't wash dishes
Kinda like some people wish for a million dollars and never get it..so they go to work everyday because thats what works..
...
...
If somebody steps otta line over there...you punish em..
you can't call for the destruction of a nation ..and then ask for nuclear rights..

As a president, I wouldn't say "I am good and the rest of the world is bad and full of terrorists". Every country must solve their own problems.
