How do I know if my battery is one of the ones being recalled. I have a dell laptop and i bought it in the timeframe they said they sold the defective batteries...

call them and get the battry number on it if it defective they will tell u and replace it for free

Dell is voluntarily recalling and offering free replacements for certain Dell-branded batteries with cells manufactured by Sony. Under rare conditions, it is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could pose a risk of fire.

it is most likely one of them. they may have a list of models somewhere that you might want to search for or even call. i would check it out as soon as possible and back up all your things... if they are important to you.
