Yes tigers are more muscled than lions. But they are also pure predators and dislike the idea of fighting. Lions on the other hand have no equal in the cat world regarding fighting ability. If a tiger managed to get near a lion and surprise him I believe that he could kill him, but a tiger, in normal circumstances, would never initiate a confrontation.

Here's more: a lion will usually kill its prey with a powerful paw to the head, breaking the victim's neck -- before devouring it.

A tiger, on the other paw, might lie on the victim to keep it immobile, while it chews and eats the very-conscious animal, a limb at a time.
