Ooooooooo! "much more talented black artists." Doesn't that say something about you, that you automatically think black rapper are better?

There are certainly differences in the performances of some black MCs vs. some white MCs (although, to be fair, I would call the Beastie Boys ALTERNATIVE, not rap). It's because there are cultural differences between some black & some white people. I think white people might be drawn towards white rappers, since they are more likely to be rapping about things that interest a white audience. There are black rappers that I consider to be very talented, but they don't rap about anything that I care about, so I don't listen to them very much.

No there are white people that buy just as many black rappers' CDs.That is how rappers make money. I grew up in white neighborhood and I knew a couple of white kids that listened to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and 2Pac. Its all about the talent. Some may not advertise it because the use of the N word in most of the music but I am sure they at home rapping to all the lyrics in the privacy of their home.

Popular doesn't mean better. There's no accounting for poor taste, except that the mainstream world loves it. I love the Beasties, but I'll take de la soul, Black Sheep and Tribe over Eminem anyday. Black Star and BDP. PE too, and guess what? I'm Whitey McWhite.

I am not comfortable listening to any rap music that is demeaning or hateful or cruel whether by white or black artists.

i think that is a stupid question. i mean i am hispanic and even though i really don't care for rap music too much, i wouldn't be more comfortable listening to fat joe rather than lil' kim just because he's hispanic.
it's about the music or lyrics not the race or ethnicity.

Rap music is an oxymoron.

I have no problem with race when it comes to listening to music. It is the sound.
