Go to a department store makeup counter, and ask one of the artists for help with pulling off the look you want - they'll generally be able to pick the shadows that will work best with your skin type and coloring.
Also, the MAC website - http://www.maccosmetics.com has several looks under their bridal section, one of which has a smoky eye. This would probably help with the actual application, but not as much with the shades that would work best for you.
Good luck!

This is the basic way to do eyeshadow... it works great on everyone.
Base... pick a shade that closely matches your skin and apply it from the lash line all the way up to the crease. You can also go above the crease to open up your eyes a bit more.
Accent... this is the fun color! Pick something that will stand out against the base and highlighter. For you I would suggest a dark brown, flecked with gold. Mary Kay has a great shade called vintage gold that would work great! You apply the accent shade in a sideways V shape on the outer corner of your eye, from your lash line to your crease.
Highlighter... this is a lighter shade. It is applied right under your brow.
Eyeliner.... use a black or deep brown. After lining, you can smidge it a bit with a brush to get that smokey look.
Mascara... and TaDa!

I like to use a brush. Start with a light or golden tone for the eyelid...go to a darker browner tone for your crease I like to start from the outer edge and go towards the inner edge. Use the lighter tone again for the part up by your brow. There u have it...smokey eyes. Oh yeah...Then I use eyeliner to finish the look on the top of my eyelid near the lashes and then again under my eye by the lashes.

Use a light tan eyeshadow across the whole lid and right below the brow. Then using a windshield wiper motion, sweep a dark brown or black shadow in the crease of your eyelid. Add a BLACK eyeliner regardless of eyeshadow color and mascara and you have very sexy eyes

You should use a light pink eyeshadow and a dark pink eyeshadow and blend the bottom in where the two colors mix.
Good luck!
