Why would he say that? Where did that come from? Maybe he feels threatened or Bob likes you or thinks you are hot. Ask him why he said that.

That is sort of an off the wall remark for your husband to make. If Bob was just calling you relating a business matter, why on earth would he say such a thing? I can't even begin to put together a reason your husband would want to claim what Bob "probably" called you...it makes no sense. I'd ask the hubby, what his reasoning was for saying that, and then I'd tell him that it really hurt you to hear that. He may have apologized, but you aren't going to get over it until you have some answers, and rightfully so. Hopefully, he meant nothing by it and it was just a slip of the tongue or a misunderstanding. Sometimes men just don't think before they speak.

I think that since everyone knows that Bob is a jerk, your husband should't have told you anything because being called a whore doesn't mean anything when it comes from a jerk and when you know your not a whore.
Your husband should think about getting new friends. That is really disrespectful if Bob did call you that. Also, tell your husband to only tell you things when it's worth it and when he is sure. "Probably" is not enough when you might be upset at it.

I don't know in what context ur husband said that. Anyway it is no use crying over the spilled milk. U have been married for 20 years and you should know ur man. While it is certainly hard to forget such an abusive remark, I would suggest u do it. Just think of it as a part of the game and put it underground. I pray for ur peace of mind.
All the best..

i don't see what the problem is or why there was a need for your husband to apologize. If someone probably called you a whore and you don't know for sure, why sweat it. And why should your husband apologize for thinking that the friend probably called you a whore. Call Bob and find out if he called you a whore.

If this guy is a jerk what do you care what he said? I also think we are missing some of the story. Why would he call you a whore for no reason? Did he ask you out and you said no? Plus you dont know he actually called you a whore since your husband said probably.

You are hurt by a fictitious statement? It sounds like your husband was making a joke about Bob, saying that he "probably" called you a whore. If you know you're not a whore, and your husband knows you're not a whore, let it go. Life is too short to get your pants in a bunch about something so trivial. I'm sure your reputation is intact.

perhaps you might have hurt bob's ego, or you husband is a culprit. who knows if he is telling the truth ? and if you are married for 20 years, you must be atleast 40 ?
so do one thing, call up bob, fix an appointment outside, and get the facts from the horse's mouth ! ask him point blank, and see his reaction. if you feel he is not at fault, come home, and slap your husband hard on his face, so next time, he will think twice , before hurting you.

Hmmm. I can see how you would be shocked by what he said. However, he was really insulting Bob. In other words, Bob is such a big jerk that he would say that to you.
It's really more about Bob than you. But, I can see your side of it.

His friend PROBABLY called you a whore. So? People probably call me a lot of things, but I'm not going to do anything about it until I know that they called me something, and even then, I'll just ignore them. If you don't like Bob, get insurance elsewhere.
