In August 2005, he released the first single off of his debut album, titled "Kick Push", which showcased his interest in skateboarding. His debut album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor, will be released on Atlantic Records in spring 2006. The album, which was scheduled to be released on June 27, 2006, was released on the internet as an unfinished and unmastered album and is now being heavily bootlegged months before its release date. Many fans were impressed with the leaked version even though it was not completed. The release has since been pushed back and it is speculated that Lupe plans to add 5 more tracks to Food & Liquor and put it out as planned on September 19, 2006.
