what a horrible, judgemental question,
young people getting dumber? I don't think so, have you seen all of the young people in the colleges these days, trying to make the best of themselves, trying for degrees? I have to admit that some of the television shows, music, and movies, seem hardly appropriate (in my opinion, anyway) for even an adult, but I think one of the things that is killing todays youth is judgement and critisism. Kids today have to deal with broken families, peer pressure, school, growing up in this society, changes emotionally, physically, and spiritually, finding themselves, and the list goes on. Give our youth a break and stop asking questions that demean them and their intelligence!
that's great that you like reading books and walking, etc... glad you enjoy coffee, I love coffee myself, none of this gives you the right to be rude or disrespectful to anyone. You can not expect someone to respect you in return, unless you first give respect to another. Everyone deserves this much.

I think that the items you listed contribute to the decaying of young minds but they're not all to blame. Parents are responsible for instilling values and morals in their children. However, it is up to the individual once they reach a certain age and understanding for them to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. Personally, I enjoy reading but don't care too much for foreign movies because I only speak English and Pig Latin.

"Is it me or young people is getting dumber every day?" If you are going to start making rude generalizations and calling every young person stupid, you should at least know grammar. I enjoy good books and walks in the mountains...I don't drink wine nor I like to walk on the mountains, does that make me stupid?

the media is what is the problem with todays society anyways. what else explains why woman think they are fat and ugly because of those stupid stick looking models that walk down the runway with dark circles under their eyes after a long day of snorting cocain and not eating, and know wonder why alot of people get the wrong impression of Islam because they listen to the president Bush's supporters on the news and so forth. People are so dumb in todays society because they believe what they see on the stupid television.

I partly agree. The problem though lies in the hands of the parents. Unfortunatly parents don't pay attention. It is easier to set kids in front of the TV or let kids do things that keep them out of the parents way. Or some parents are less mature than their children and sould not have had them in the first place.

You can't blame the young people here. Blame the media, the recording companies and the tv directors; they are responsible for producing these.

No, you're not the only one. The world's going to be a very scary place. Interesting fact...One mayor in Michigan is only 18 years old. Don't believe me? Check it out: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-11-09-kid-mayor_x.htm

There have aways been a lot of stupid people. But now they're not trying to hide it. Also, on the internet and reality TV shows, they have a greater ability to be stupid in public.
