Let's try this again

REDPUBLICANS
1. Smaller Government Bzzzt Rong Government has grown under the last 4 Redpublican administrations

2. Lower Taxes/fair taxation for all income groups Bzzzt Rong Lower for special interest groups only.

3. Family Values. Bzzzt Rong Focus on the family is a Fraudulent Charity funneling $$$ into the RNC. (not that anything is Rong with that)

DEMOCRATS

1. Gay Rights Bzzzt Rong Gay's have the same rights as everyone else.

2. Abortion Bzzzt Rong Pro Choice not Pro murder

2. Welfare Bzzzt Wrong Physically responsible.

Independents - What do you stand for?

Non of the above. They only want to destroy America so Nikita Kruschev can raise from the dead and conquer America.

Footnote Rong is Texan for Wrong

Go big Red Go

It depends on the individual. That's the whole point.

Independents don't have one common set of beliefs. But then neither do all Democrats or all Republicans.

The categorizations you draw above are very broad, and often inaccurate as applied to many individuals. Independents recognize that, and prefer voting for individual candidates, rather than based on party endorsement.
