okay...two questions:

1. If I DON'T put my jeans in the dryer at all after washing them...will they still shrink? (either in length or tightness?)

AND

2. If i put jeans in the dryer to purposely shrink the length...will they also become tighter? or will the length be the only thing to change?

It's not just drying your jeans that makes them tight- it's also washing them. Hot water makes some thing shrink- in the case of jeans, it tightens the threads. Your jeans are probably just becoming tighter, because as they loosen up, they hang off your body more and therefore seem longer.

Hopefullly that helps!

Wash them in cold water and DON'T put them in the dryer. They will not shrink. And if you do put them in the dryer, they will shrink in every direction, not just the length.

wash in cold water and don't dry over 20 minutes on permanent press, take out while they are still damp and hang to dry and they shouldn't shrink. and yes if you put them in the dryer to shrink the length they will shrink everywhere.

1. yes
2.they are going to shrink rather you put them in the dryer or not. and they will shrink both in length and width but the length more than the width due to the way they are made.
