Follow your dreams!!! The worst thing you want is any regret in your life or say when you're older, "I could've been..."
You can always go back and finish your education, you're only young once. Make the best of it while you can :D Who knows, you may just become the next big star!!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!

You should do both simultaneously. Keep in mind that no matter how talented you are, MOST and I do mean most..like 99% do not acheive the dream of being an entertainer; at least not to the extent that they can make a living at it (a lot of people do theater part-time, sing, etc.).
You need your education to keep ALL your options open. These days its hard to get even a secretary job without a college degree and that is only going to get worse in the future.
Why not get a college degree in a major that furthers your dream? Say music or theater? There are plenty of paying jobs in the industry and it helps build your portfolio too so your odds of success improve greatly.

You can still pursue your dreams of becoming an entertainer while you're in college. In fact, you might be able to find some club or organization on campus to join that would help your career. And after four years of college you'll still be young, you'll have a degree, and you might just be even more talented! It's always nice to have a backup plan.

Your talent will not dissipate as age comes, so get your education, and once you have a degree, you can go pursue your dream of entertaining, and just in case...you have a degree. You'll be able to support yourself!
I want to be a R&B singer, I'm working on my second album, but I'm in college for Business Marketing (one step closer to being a corporate lawyer)
While I"m in school I do talent shows and things, but once I graduate I'm gonna go head first into the REAL studio and put out that demo, and see what happens!

I would continue with your education and do things on the side that could help you if are interested in the entertainment industry. If you go ahead and get your degree then if you don't make it in entertainment you have something to fall back on. While in college get involved with the theatre and music department. If your college or university has a radio station then get involved with that. Try to get an internship at a tv or radio station. Get involved with the local community theatre as well.
Do what you can while you are in school to help build your resume so that when you do finish you have some experience as well as a degree.

First you need to ask yourself some serious and difficult questions. You want to become an entertainer. Do you actually have the talent to back that up, and the drive? It's a highly competive field. If you feel that you do, then...
Second, what sort of entertainment are we talking? Singing? Acting? Dancing? Because your choices in terms of education can only be based on which field you're considering.
For example, acting. Most actors have at least a bachelor's degree in theatre, and the learning you do and the connections you make while at university can be vital to your career. If you want to be an actor, I'd say go to university first.
Another example, dancing. Most "Broadway" or "Los Angeles" types of dancers are done by the time they are about 25. They've either made it by then, or they haven't. So most dancers go to school after they've already started their dance career, or after it. There are even programs, like one at Fordham University, specifically for dancers who are going to college.
But again, this depends on the type of dance.
Final example, singing. Again, it depends on the type of singing you want to do. Opera? You'd be well served to go to a music conservatory. Pop? Probably better to go right into performing, and tackle university later on. Unless, of course, you wanted to go to conservatory - you could go to Berklee in Boston, for example, which specialises in that style of music and has produced some big names. You'd be able to make some serious connections there, which would be of benefit to your career.
So, in reality, it depends on what you mean by "entertainer", and what you want from your life. I hope this helped.

Tough one. If U have means to support yourself- go for the dream, but good education to back you up would not hurt to fall back on if the stardom fades away... NOONE CAN TAKE AWAY EDUCATION

well..., the odds of you making it as an entertainer is slim but people have made it..., I remember in Robin Williams acceptance speech..., he thanks his father when he said he wanted to go into show biz..., all his father said..., as long as you have a back up plan...
