9 months isn't a very long time at all. you should always go with your gut instinct. You need to be positive that this is the man you want to marry before you make that kind of commitment, because marriage is a very serious thing, and takes a lot of work. If you do decide to decline the proposal thorughly explain yoru reasons to him, and be gentle. It is hard for guys to accept rejection especially at this level. Offer instead to move int ogether and see how things go from there. Or if none of that sounds pleasing opt for a super long engagement and get to know one another better. Good luck! :)

If you are both happy and think it will work, it isnt too soon. There isnt a time limit on what is really too soon. You have been seeing each other for almost a year. When my fiance and I got engaged we had been seriously dating for 8 months. We werent living with each other at the time but we got an apartment that we live in now a few months later. If you love the guy, I dont think its too soon. Too soon for marriage perhaps but not too soon to take a relationship to the next level (engagement). Try getting an apartment or something and see if you both still get along in that. Things will work out though. The best of luck to you and him!

I think the best way to find out if you would make a good couple ( married) is to live together for at least 1 year . can you deal with him on a daily bases as can he deal with you ! you would be amazed on how some people live . and the things they do that might not go over to well with you . so I say live with him and really get to know each other .

Nothing is "too soon", unless you feel it is... Sounds like you do. Go with your gut feeling and take your time in deciding. My parents started dating in April, got engaged in June, got married in July; still married after 33 years. The actual time period doesn't matter, it's all up to you. I think it helps to analyze the negative things in the relationship early on - look at the things that dirve you crazy, and ask yourself - can I still love this person and tolerate him if these things persisted and/or got worse? If you can accept the person as they really are, not expecting them to "change" just because they're in a relationship - I think it'll make it easier to deal with the negatives and concentrate on the positives.

Why live together? Get to know each other while being engaged. It's not too soon to be engaged, just wait awhile to get married. You have a life time to live together wait til your married to do so that should not have any bearing on how much you love him.

9 months is a long time to know someone. Save the moving in until you have the ring on your finger. When you move in together, he could start taking things for granted and not take the next step to marriage.

Stay with him before you say I do. Men are like a total different species when you are staying together. Get to know the other side of him before you experience a marriage and divorce in the same year. It's like a car, you test drive it before you buy it. And unlike a car you can not trade him in.

9 months is not a long time. You already know you love him. Marry him if you feel its right... People can change anytime sometimes they dont even show their true selves after years of marriage. Go on faith and believe in your love.

don't move in with him. accept his proposal but have a really really long engagement just to be sure (like 2 years). make sure you don't get pregnate, and if you have any doubts DONT MARRY HIM. Theres no point in living your life with someone you don't love.

my parents only new eachother for 8 months before they got married. and today is actually their 16th anniversary. they did not live together first. If you truly love this guy and think he is the one to marry, then marry him.
