I am 10 weeks pregnant and everything that I eat only comes back up. Can someone please give me some kind of food recipe that is good to eat when you have extremely terrible morning sickness. I lost 4 lbs already. No spicy or greasy foods please. And no crackers, I need food. Or any more tips that you have. Thanks.

My wife had the same problem. It does go away usually in the second trimester. You only have about 6 more weeks of this.

Contact your doctor and find out if he will give you a perscription for a drug called compazine. It is supposed to be pregnancy safe now. It is an anti-emetic. (Prevents you from vomiting). Your doctor will also want to see of your dyhdrating.

Sadly there was nothing my wife could eat that stayed down either. No matter what foods she was given and what receipes she got from other people she still threw it up.

protein foods are good to help with nausea
ginger ale
gingerbread cookies
ginger candy
lemonade or water with lemon
natural fruit juice popsicles
baked potatoes
mint tea
peppermints
clear broth
protein shakes

ALWAYS keep something on your stomache. Eat small, frequent meals and snacks all day long. Keep a snack on your bedside table so you can have a bite if you wake in the middle of the night. Have your DH bring you something in the morning before you even get out of bed.

You can buy seabands at the drugstore. They are for motion sickness but some moms with m/s find they really help.

I ended up in the hospital due to morning sickness.

I was put in the dark, no TV, no telephone, only husband could visit. My meals consisted of things like pretzels and cereal. I was on an IV and had limited liquid input by mouth for 3 or 4 days. Then finally I was given small amounts of juice/milk to drink. But I had to have my dry food and keep it down for 30 minutes before I could have liquids.

After I was sent home, food commercials on the TV made me ill. I was throwing up from beginning of June until end of November. I could not look at raw meat for at least a month. I could not eat beef the whole time.

Every morning, I started with dry cereal, pretzels and crackers, then would drink in sips through the day. Lots of dry food. When I ate protein, it was in small amounts.

I could wear my regular clothing the whole time. I gained 9 pounds and my son weighted 8 lbs. 7oz. But he was healthy. He is an only child.

My morning sickness was minimal during my first pregnancy, so during my 2nd pregnancy, I couldn't keep anything down for the first 5 months, I finally asked my doctors nurse about it, and she told me about that amazing little pill that stops the nausea and vomiting. It worked freaking miracles. I was steadily loosing weight, gave up eating pretty much everything, because only salad and turkey sandwiches stayed down. I wish I had mentioned how bad it was before, but when they gave me that medication, it definatly helped.
As far as suggesting something to eat, only you can figure that out. Keep trying different things that are really mild. You never know what is going to work. The pill is so easy, you take it in the morning, 15 minutes later, you feel soo much better.
Definatly talk to your doctor however, because there may be an underlying problem that is rather rare.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear that but don't worry it gets better after your 3rd month or maybe even sooner. Everyone is different. I was really bad my 1st preg. I mean, I could not eat anything because I was vomiting all day long not just morn. My second preg. was a little better. I was on days, some good some bad but nothing like the first time around. I ate fruit lots of fruit (watermelon, melon, grapes, strawberrys etc., crackers forget it never helped me. I can't stand cracker till this day and ginger ale juk..What helped a lot during the day were tootsie roll pops. Don't know why, maybe because of the choc flavor (who knows) but they helped me. Try chicken w/ pasta. Not fry ck.Good luck.

You could try some soups. I had terrible morning sickness with my first child for the first 3 months. Then for the rest of the pregnancy, every time I smelled spaghetti sauce I would throw up.

I also ate rice cakes to calm my stomach. Try eating just a little bit of food very often. Sometimes if you keep something in your stomach all the time it will keep you from getting ill.

Good Luck.

For me I noticed that more bland foods stayed down. Rice, chicken with no spices, plain noodles and i drank a lot of tummy mint tea to help with the nasea. It helped for me for the most part. Just try foods without to much spice or grease it sounds disgusting but it does help you to get nutrients and keep them in. Just try it even thought everyone is different. It also helps to have food by the bed so when you wake up you can grab it real quick so you dont get so sick thats what I did the more empty your stomach is the sicker you will feel good luck!

Fist time around I got some fresh ginger root and steeped it in hot water to make a tea. Worked well as long as you don't drink too much. Wait a bit and try some dry toast. Hopefully the morning sickness will lessen soon. I also had to take a prenatal vitamin with no iron as this can be very hard on your stomach. Just make sure you get iron in what you eat.

The best thing is to eat very small meals and NEVER let your stomach get empty. Try drinking about 2 to 4 oz. of milk about 20 minutes before you eat. Then eat a small portion of lightly seasoned food. One thing that always stayed down for me is Quaker Old Fashioned Oatmeal (NOT THE INSTANT KIND). Prayerfully this will work for you as well. God Bless!

hopefully this will pass, if not you might want to talk to your doctor. I would suggest talking to him or her anyway and perhaps they can suggest some foods that you could try. Maybe try to eat and follow it with some camomille tea, or another non caffinated warm drink. Cold drinks cool down the acids in your stomach and make it more difficult for your food to digest.
Also time out our day, if there is a time in the day where you feel less sick, try to eat small portions of high vitamin/protein foods. Small pieces of grilled chicken breast with some raw veggies, steamed brown rice. Very plain, but nutritous.
Good Luck!
