I would like to put a concrete patio in my backyard. It will be about 15'x25' in size . . . Just wondering what that type of thing goes for in California.. Thanks!

15x25=375SF

375x.334 (4" thickness) = 125.25CF

125.25/27 = 4.63 CU/YARDS of Concrete.

You'll pay about $80/YARD delivered.. 5 Yards x $80/YD = $400

You need to form it, so add about $40 for form material and stakes and be ready for a few hours work.
You'd need to rent a bull float and screed, to the tune of about $100 for the day.

You'll need about 5 or so people to help do it Doing it yourself.
Add the cost of beer and BBQ to feed the crew..

If you have a professional concrete crew do it my guess is your price will be triple that.

I did a little math and you should be putting in three cubic yards of concrete. concrete is ordered in cubic yards. for matirials alone it costs about $100 cy. for a pre-mixed batch. Teh labor will be much more then that. I would say your looking at at least 1,000. Alot of contractors will do free estimates (if you use them). And if your on a hill or something where the is engineering involved your looking at a much greater price.

I am on the East coast so I can't tell what prices are like in California. But we just put in a patio ourselves. (it is only 10'x10') we bought 12"x12" patio blocks at the home improvement store for $2 each. It was easy. (well, it was work, but not like we expected) Came out nice!

Good luck

Spud is incorrect, you will place about 5 cubic yards (at 4" thick). In any case, $8 to $10 a square foot would be about right.
