You can go to seekasong.com, but I dont think its legal. They only have the popular songs that they play on the radio.

supload.com you have to upload a song and there navigation sucks but its free legal and sounds clear

Limewire.com there are to many people downloading from it so it is probably legal

if you have an apple computer find a song that is online, just drag it to your destop then drag it to your itunes then you will be able to listen to music like that

Apple.com but thats not free so whatever

you can get a free service and the downloads are clean its called ares.i use ares because you can download as much music as you need and you can put it on your ipod.mp3 and also burn cd's but dont use bearshare but if you get limewire sometimes the downloads wont work but ares always works so heres that instructions on getting ares
first downlaod ares for www.aresgalaxy.sorceforge.net then it says download ares then click on that then thiz weird lookin screen pops up go down and 1 will say easynews the by it it will say phoenix arizona the next it will say download then click on that

Well to get most copyrighted songs with out permission would be illegal. Seeing as most artists don't give permission for you to have there songs for free obtaining them for free would be illegal.
There is some music now in public domain and sometimes there are specials from artists or music stores.
