That's what I thought they did when they made Furbys. Mine went demonic. Did you know there are websites for how to kill a Furby? There were numerous court cases, too, of Furbys gone bad. Wouldn't you just know that when we finally make a cybernetic intelligence to equal man's intelligence that it would turn out demonic? (I'm joking, or course.) Human intelligence is a component of consciousness. And, consciousness is a gooey, mysterious mix of electromagnetic energy and photonic pathways and complex associations. Certainly, humans will learn how to make that same kind of physical consciousness, because it's about photons and electromagnetic waves. And, we're well on our way to comprehending such aspects of the universe around us. But, our consciousness as humans is partly a function of our physical chassis. A consciousness that is not firing off the same walls as a human chassis wouldn't be "human". It would be something unto itself. And, it would, therefore, not have the same "quality" of intelligence as humans do. Perhaps the same "quantity", but, not the same "quality". Which would mean our perception of human intelligence would be moot when used to "measure" a cybernetic organism's intelligence.

We may never know until a breakthrough in BioMemory is produced. We would need a semiorganic, or synthetic memory materiel that could effectively hold a near infinite amount of data. Or to start, just several terrabytes. The human brain does not store a certain amount of data. Its capacity is infinite. 50 trillion terraflops still wouldnt have anything on how the brain can store and access and sort through data.

Equal? never. Now I'm reading this book where humans are in the future to a point where they can attach a memorycell to just the inside of the base of the braincase. The memorycell can store the persons personality traits, memories and other data. The author didnt go into detail about how much data it could store, but it was crystal based. So if someone in this book experiences bodyloss, or they are killed. They can be relifed or resurrected in a cloned body, and the last backup of their memorycell can be loaded into the new one in the clone. I guess it saves your exact DNA sequences and everything too.

In this book, an AI was created, and AIs were used in buildings to keep an eye on inhabitants and open and close security doors to employees, contact authorities and fire departments, and basically run the buildings like a janitor but with hyperawareness. Its linked to every function of the building. Of course, each AI was programmed down to basic functions, and only certian individuals with access codes could reprogram, make edits, or create/delete maintenance schedules and add new authorized users and stuff. Everyone also has what was called an E-butler, that is, you can talk to it in your head. Its a powered down AI called an RI. RI's are used in taxis and other municipal vehicles like dump trucks and trains and things like that. RIs also manage large equipment like Fusion reactors and the Cities power grid.

Even the AI wasnt really an AI, but the first one evolved itself by storing the memories of the dead who wished to donate their life experiences and knowledge to it. It became the SI, and it was only one entity. In the book the SI didnt physically exist anywhere, only on the internet. Or as the author called it, the cybersphere. With being able to thought-activate things and sign a document over the airwaves, bring up information on someone or the specifications of a building or object in your retinal inserts, it was really easy and convenient to do things while on the move. Well, I'll shutup now but read some good books on AI and you will gleam a good amount of knowledge on what may be possible.

I would suggest a book to you if you wanted to read it. Currently there is 2 books, But there may be a third later.

Most of the science fiction writers tell that artificial intelligence is created by the cybernetic organism itself, or an unknown source of power (dare we name God).

Never, nothing we could ever make would equal our intelligence because the human brain, or any brain for that matter, is infinitely creating new connections that we then pass on to our children. The brain is infinit, a computer is only as smart as its creator and there will always be someone smarter than that person.

It will take a very long time, if they ever do it at all. One problem is our limited understanding of consciousness and all that is involved in the thought process.

Or how much sensory data goes into creating a single mental thought or image.

on our current level...it would take approximatly 50 years because the capacity of a human brain is more than 50 terabytes therefore it would take a LOT of nano chips to fit all tht capacity and develop AI powerful enough to replicate a human
